If you live in Manhattan or anywhere close by, then you know what the annual Feast of San Gennaro is. For those who don’t live near by it’s a week long festival filled with music, food, drinks, games, and shopping. It’s held every year in September in Little Italy on Mulberry Street. The hubby and I spent Friday night walking the streets, eating, and having a great time.
While walking around we stopped in It’s Always Christmas in the City. This place is a huge store selling nothing but Christmas decor all year long! I don’t like to rush through seasons and holidays but you can’t help but get excited for Christmas when walking in here.
After doing a little window shopping it was time to eat. We stopped in this little restaurant Paesano. The decor in here is beautiful. It’s rustic with a little sparkle. How can I not love anything with a touch of sparkle?
The gnocchi in pesto sauce was delish!
After eating we visited the Sparkling Ice stand giving away free samples of their flavored water. Strawberry Watermelon, Pink Grapefruit and Cherry Limeade were the three flavors to try.
The night ended with picking up a box of desserts from La Bella Ferrara to take home including cannoli of course.
And then one final stop at Sambuca’s for some espresso.
There really is nothing better than living so close to NYC sometimes. There’s always something to do.
If your near by this week the feast is going on until Saturday September 21st so stop by!
