Ocean is located on the beach on the North Shore of Long Island. It’s part of The Crescent Beach Club catering hall but it’s own separate restaurant. So no worries if there is a wedding or event going on, you can still enjoy a meal overlooking the gorgeous water.
On a clear day here, you can see right over the water to Connecticut. When you imagine eating outside overlooking the Long Island Sound, you picture Ocean.
A couple of weekends ago, the hubby & I decided to go out for an impromptu lunch at Ocean. It was a beautiful warm Saturday afternoon and we didn’t want to be stuck inside so we decided to take a drive to Bayville, Long Island. There is truly nothing more relaxing than sitting outside on a deck with views of the beach and water while you have lunch.
The service is pretty good and the waitresses & waiters do not rush you. So feel free to indulge and take in the sights.
I stared off with a light watermelon salad.
OCEAN’S SUMMER SALAD – mixed field greens, red onions, watermelon, white balsamic vinaigrette, balsamic reduction
If you want a light refreshing salad this one is the one to go with. There wasn’t much to it and exactly the opposite of a filling heavy salad.
I ordered the Lobster Roll because when in Rome…
LOBSTER ROLL – Maine lobster chunks, lemon aioli
The lobster was incredibly fresh and I devoured the entire thing. Anyone who knows me, knows I never finish a meal. I always have leftovers to take home.
The hubby ordered the Ocean Burger.
OCEAN BURGER – 10oz short rib brisket blend, brioche bun, onion, tomato, lettuce
It was cooked perfectly and the brioche bun was a nice change from the usual white bread buns served with burgers.
Both of our meals came with a side of fries.
House Cut Fries
Honestly they were just ok. I prefer my fries to be crispy and these weren’t. They weren’t exactly soggy just soft.
Of course a meal is complete without dessert. Dessert is always the best part no?
CHIPWICH – brownie stuffed chocolate chip cookie with vanilla and chocolate chip ice cream
Once the hubby and I saw the Chipwich we had to get it! It was heaven! A brownie inside a cookie and ice cream? It was like being a child again.
I know summer is nearing it’s end but that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of nice weekends to still be enjoyed eating outside. So if you are craving a beach view and tasty seafood or burger, take a drive out to Bayville and take in the sights while you chow down.
