When Fall is upon us in New York, it’s best to embrace it and do the things that make Fall fun right? So the hubby and I went apple picking Saturday. How very Fall of me right?
We took a drive out to Harbes Family Farm on the east end on Long Island. They have everything you could want to do in one place, apple picking, pumpkin picking, corn maze, a haunted maze at night time, apple cider donuts, apple cider drinks and so much more.
We didn’t do any pumpkin picking but we did stock up on apples!
Harbes has a huge selection of so many different kinds of apples. Some were ready to be picked and some won’t be ready for another couple weeks.
I honestly have no idea which apples we picked. I’m no expert so after a while we just picked whatever looked good to us.
We ended up with more apples than we knew what to do with so I made an apple pie! I mean seriously what else do us basic girls do after apple picking? Oh and I am all for being basic, the more basic the better
For my first attempt at baking an apple pie I must say it came out pretty good! I think I’ll tweak the recipe some more and then I’ll be sharing it with all of you!
